Round 2

Wow, fine weather, fine weather, fine weather......sounds just wonderful, but it is a concern for those of us on tank water supplies. Last year we went for almost 6 months without any serious rain, and this caught a lot of people by surprise. It was good time to own a water tanker! Of course, you always seem to think it has to rain, but the pattern this year is looking very much the same. There is a large high pressure parked over us right now, and not going anywhere. Maybe we have become part of Australia!? Of course, being in the tourism business, the flip side is that all our guests get to enjoy our glorious beaches in appropriate sunny weather, and the water stays warmer for much longer, we swam from November to April last year, quite a treat. And of course we did not have to apologise to any foreign visitors for bad weather, not  that we have any control over it, but some people seem to think we have magical powers that can banish all clouds from the sky by just thinking about it. Well, I wish I did have magical powers, then I would get it to rain twice a week, during the night, from 12am to 2am, and of course during the weekdays, one might still be up at 12am on the weekend! But, no magic powers, we are at the mercy of the weather gods, and if they have allocated a long dry summer for us, then we will have to accept that. No more baths, no more car washing, and hand washing the laundry only....well, maybe not. As long as there is a drop of water to add to the whiskey, we will be fine :-) Bring on the sun, and bring on the visitors to our region, it looks like it will be a good one for them.....
