Last week we were run over by ex Cyclone Wilma, which dumped a record amount of rain in a short period on our coast. Lots of damage, slips, roads blocked and our beautiful clear waters turnrd to mud :-(
4 days on and of course the remnants of slips are a constant reminder. But, the sun has come out, it is hot and the waters are clearing :-) Now we turn to Northern Queensland where a massive tropical storm is bearing down on them, cyclone Yasi could be packing winds of up to 300kmph if it reaches a Cat 5...crazy stuff.

January 2011'
Right, still working out how to best use this social media for our marketing, seems quite a minefield at times. Having a great summer so far with all our guests enjoying our amazing local beaches and a long run of fine warm weather. We have hosted people from Australia, Germany, USA, Scotland, Canada and New Zealand, so good to see the Kiwis out exploring their own country. A lot of repeat visitors this year, some of them on their 3rd and 4th visits to Ara Roa, so we must be doing something right! Anyway, I mainly wanted to post some new and updated images we have of The Guest House, it has been some time since we last took pictures, and there have been a number of subtle changes to the interior of The Guest House, mainly soft furnishings etc. Always trying to keep it "fresh". There will be a number of new images posted to the website, but for now I will place a few here. Haere Mai
duh, made a complete hash of it again, I think I uploaded the incorrct images! Guest House coming up.
